Zod 4 stays the single schema library until the API layer moves to oRPC.
The repo standard uses Valibot for env, domain, contract, forms, and AI structured output. CentraKit generates its OpenAPI document with next-openapi-gen, which only reads Zod schemas or TypeScript types. Moving to Valibot while keeping next-openapi-gen would break the committed OpenAPI document and the generated API client.
Keep Zod 4 as the only schema library. Forms use TanStack Form with Zod through Standard Schema. no-restricted-imports blocks other schema libraries so the codebase keeps one.
@orpc/valibot replaces next-openapi-gen.valibot skill is not installed until that plan starts.Last updated on
